Group Details For Spice Asia

We aim to explore the tastes of Asia, including of course curry from the diverse parts of India, but also including Thai, Indonesian, Malay and any other styles that we can find that rely on spices. We will include venues in Southampton but also look in the surrounding area for interesting restaurants. We have tested out various formats and timings during the last few months and have reached the conclusion that we will focus on the second weekend of the month – on Saturdays when Southampton football club are not playing at home and on the Fridays when they have home games on the Saturday. This will allow those that have fixed interests on Friday evenings to at least join in on some occasions. We will try to include as many people as we can, within the limits of the restaurants we go to, but also to welcome newcomers to U3A or Southampton or just to curry nights and give them a chance to join a friendly group and get to know a few people.
